OC TRIAL TEST
The OCTTC is significant for our Year 4 students intending to sit the OC Placement Test. This course is specifically designed so that students sit a Trial Test every week, testing their knowledge and performance in exam conditions. By sitting our OC Trial Tests, students systematically revise the entire Year 4 course and will be confidently prepared for the OC Placement Test.
CS Education utilises a Blended Learning System specially designed for OC, Selective School and Private School Scholarship Exams. Students sit for tests in class and review incorrect questions at home with parents. Our test papers are constantly updated and revised to meet changing trends in such examinations. The latest in computer hardware and software is used to mark students’ answer sheets for each exam. OMR (Optical Mark Reader) paper is used as test answer sheets which enables instant marking of each test. The result sheets give detailed information regarding the students’ scores. It indicates which questions in which category were answered correctly and incorrectly and displays each student’s average out of all test participants. Frequent feedback regarding each student’s result gives parents more insight into their child’s progress. Success in this highly competitive exam requires commitment and hard work and we pledge our assistance in helping your child achieve this outcome. Working in partnership, there is nothing we cannot achieve!
The OC Trial Test Course diligently prepares students for success in the Opportunity Class Placement Test. This course is unique in that it allows students to practise exam style questions under exam conditions. As the answer sheets are being marked, teachers will review the entire test paper with particular focus on difficult questions. Each question is explained thoroughly step by step. Students receive their individual results at the end of the session as a record of their performance. The OC Trial Test Course will help your child to manage his/her time efficiently, minimise carelessness, overcome examination nerves and perform at his/her best under examination conditions.

SELECTIVE TRIAL TEST
Our Selective Trial Tests Course has been reviewed & restructured to include the Selective Preliminary Course to ensure that they are relevant, suitable & of high quality so that our students are best prepared for the Selective Schools Test. This course is a significant part of our program for Year 5/6 students who are enrolled in the Selective High School and Private School Scholarship Tests Preparation Course. For students attempting the Selective Schools Test, we have organised 10 Preliminary tests & 54 Trial Test Course.
To complement our 54 offline Selective Trial Tests Course, we have started the Selective Preliminary Course of 10 tests to familiarise students with different categories of questions, techniques of answering such questions, testing & evaluation and to help them apply knowledge in assessment. At CS Education we have a unique Blended Learning system with the Online Trial Tests as support to the offline Trial Tests. For students enrolled in the offline Trial Tests Course both parents & children can REVIEW all incorrect trial test questions online for 1 week after taking the test. This is most beneficial as parents can help children at home and monitor their progress online as well.
The Trial Tests train students to attempt exam style questions under strict exam conditions, practise time management and put strategies learnt during lessons into practice. By sitting for our Trial Tests students will be confidently prepared for the Selective Schools Test!
Answer sheets are computer marked & the reports give detailed information showing the marks, correct and incorrect answers and the areas the student is weak in. To reinforce understanding & learning, we have the Small Group Tutorial (Math/GA) every fortnight to help students who need extra review & explanation on the tests. This enrichment & frequent feedback on each student’s results give parents more insight into their children’s progress. Both our offline Trial Test Course & Online Trial Tests Course has been prepared to ensure your children will be best prepared for next year’s Selective High Schools Test.
Why does your child need our Trial Test Course? Our students’ success depends on their attendance at these sessions & sufficient practice done over a period of time. Students not only complete the tests, but difficult questions and incorrect answers are corrected and explained to the students by teachers/tutors. During that period, students will complete 54 tests / 27 sets (27 tests per subject: G.A, Mathematics, English, Vocabulary & Essay Writing). During a session, the test paper is reviewed while students’ answer sheets are being marked. Teachers/tutors explain all questions step by step so that students maintain a thorough understanding of each test question. Writing tests are marked by fully qualified English Teachers and results are returned to students in the next session with corrections, suggestions and comments. If students’ test marks in Maths/GA for that week are unsatisfactory they can attend the ‘Small Group Tutorial’ session. During this session, students will re-examine the same questions which were done earlier in the week. The tutor will review the questions again to ensure students understand completely. This Small Group Tutorial is absolutely free of charge!
