Year 6 English

CS Education Primary English Lesson Books have been prepared to reflect the Australian Curriculum which is designed to support 21st century learning.

Under this curriculum, the English Content Structure comprises three strands: Language, Literature & Literacy which collectively focuses on developing students’ knowledge, understanding and skills in listening, reading, viewing, speaking and writing. Hence, we have taken every care to incorporate an inclusive curriculum which aims to ensure that our students

  • Learn to read, view, speak, write, create and reflect on a wide collection of texts across a growing range of contexts with accuracy, fluency and purpose
  • Appreciate, enjoy and use English language in all its variations and develop the ability to evoke feelings, convey information, form ideas, entertain, persuade and argue.
  • Develop interest and skills in appreciating the aesthetic aspects of texts and develop an informed appreciation of literature.

In line with these aims, our English Lesson Books have been prepared to address the teaching & learning outcomes of the Australian Curriculum. Each Unit of the book has been organised around the key concepts of the 3 interrelated strands that support students’ understanding and learning of English.
